Where is Victoria, Minnesota?
Victoria, Minnesota is located on the western edge of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metro Area. There are 5,000 residents in this city of parks (2,000 acres) and lakes (9 lakes total). It is also the location of Smithtown Bay of Lake Minnetonka, the lake with the Upper Midwest's longest shoreline.
Looking like Northern Exposure, Victoria is nestled on the south
side of a little lake. The town consists of a restaurant, post
office, lumber yard, dentist's office, fast food sub shop, pizza
shop, two gasoline stations, one car wash with no vacuum, a Dairy
Queen, a city hall and an antique shop. At the top of the hill the
steeple of The Saint Victoria Catholic Church rises to greet you
with the splendor and beauty of 1860 architecture. At the bottom of
the hill, the quaint Lake Auburn Moravian Church leads you from the
Dairy Queen corner to it's picturesque setting.
Victoria is a western suburb of Minneapolis waiting to happen. It
was tiny farming town and is now filled with people, children and
golf courses and houses of assorted costs. The farm values of the
last century have mingled with the new wealth and needs of this
century. Town homes, big homes, little homes, medium homes are all
sitting amidst little lakes, ponds and a golf course. A
bike/hiking/cross country skiing trail leads you from Victoria all
the way to Minneapolis if you are fit and willing.
Victoria is six miles north of CHASKA, Minnesota, six miles west of
EXCELSIOR, Minnesota and six miles east of WACONIA, Minnesota.
Victoria, Minnesota is 25 miles west of downtown Minneapolis,
served by The Victoria Gazette newspaper--952 443-2010 (editor Sue Orsen).
Victoria is 260 miles from Wautoma, Wisconsin--Waushara Argus
Newspaper--920 787-3334
(editor Mary Kunasch).
What does all of this mean?
Janie uses the Mpls/St Paul International airport when living in
Minnesota November through April.
Janie uses the Appleton, Wisconsin airport when living in Wautoma,
Wisconsin May through October.
If you hire Janie she could be flying to your event from either
location since she lives in both states.
